Description

The process of dreaming it's something particularly complex. Dreams are part of our lives and we could'nt live without 'em.
Since past time man tried to explain dreams in many ways... the most asked question could be "Why do we dream ? Why during sleep or in real life dreams are so important for us?"... prolly the reason it's not simple and it's not unique...

...we dream coz we would a better life?
...we dream coz we would change something?
...we dream coz we need a way to escape reality?

Whatever reason we find for our "dreaming" one thing is for sure: WE HAVE TO FEED OUR DREAMS. We have to feed them with our will-power, with our fantasy, with our love, because dreams are the fuel that makes us go on, the potion that makes our life magic, the hope that someday the things will change.

This illustration was realized in Maya and composited in Photoshop.
Digitalized on a PIII 866Mhz with 512MB of RAM... it took really long to be completed specially after 5 system crashes

and a frustrating slow workflow (due this damned pc!!!).... erm... anyway

Wow - there is alot going on in this pic - I'm glad I full-viewed. All I might suggest is adding a little something to the brain as it reads a tiny bit flat, and maybe some type of lighting effect to push some elements back and pull others forward in the composition. I really like the posture and detail on the two android figures

There is a berkley philosopher who spends about three hours on CD talking about the logical problems involved with cognitive science. He said for it to work all minds would need a "humunkulus" (wrong spelling) to think for that mind. He said that they are little people who live in the brain and carry out all of its processes. That is what the blue dudes must be.

I used to dig the definiton of dream back in college for my thesis, and I do agree with your description. Cause when you can not feed your dreams, you are just simply dead.

On the excution, not my fav, but I like it. Very techno IMHO

This is a very nice image. My only crit is that it's pretty busy, so it's hard to focus on just one area of the pic. Maybe a little more control of the lighting. Maybe make the areas around the green thing in the middle a little darker. I dunno.

Still, a very good image.

I really really like the colours and the liquidity, good job Nick! And it has good depth and it s a cool idea. My only crit would be that it is a bit busy, but otherwise it is very cool

strangely this reminds of the library level in halo(if you're familar?) but i appreciate the effort you put into this. i particulary like the colors used , but why mostly blue? well done at least i'll now whats happenin in my head at night now!!!!

i dont know why i havent commented on this before but this is bloody amazing. we use maya at work for 3d stuff but i had no idea you could pull off quality of this level with it - i guess im just used to seeing low-poly 3d stuff that we do for games lol.

anyway - this rocks.
